We Empower Smiles

Smiles Unite Us Foundation (501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) empowers smiles for individuals with congenital and acquired facial and dental differences.

Bringing Hope to Pakistan

Transforming Young Lives in Karachi

Each year, we travel to Karachi on a mission that changes lives — one surgery at a time.

The Smiles Unite Us Foundation partners with local organizations in Pakistan to provide free reconstructive surgeries for children living with facial differences, including cleft lip and cleft palate conditions. For families facing financial hardship, these procedures would otherwise remain completely out of reach.

Our foundation is driven by a simple but powerful belief: that access to life-changing medical care should not depend on a family’s income or location. Beyond the physical transformation, each surgery delivers something equally important — renewed confidence and renewed hope.

Dr. Khurram Khan speaks openly about the journey behind this initiative with AsiaOne News, from how patients are identified and selected, to how the foundation sustains its work through funding and community support, to the profound emotional impact felt by both the children’s families and the volunteer medical teams who serve them.

About Us

Our story begins when our founder, Dr. Khurram Khan was 20 years old. Recognizing the need for care among the underserved without access to dental services, he set his sights on serving the cleft lip and palate community. For the past decade, he has performed free surgeries for cleft lip and palate around the world.
